Recharter Due
Recharter is due for this year. If you just joined the scouts you have paid up to next year so this does not apply to you. If you are a Wolf - Webelos I your dues this year are $41. If you are a Webelos II you dues are $21. If you would like to add Boy's Life please add $12. Dues are due to your den leaders and must be turned in by December 1st, failure to do so will result in the scout being dropped from the pack.
The Space Place
I had someone at NASA email me the other day and he wanted me to share a new site they have for the cub scouts. Check out this site to find some fun activites to help make getting your rank fun. Go to the NASA website.
Bring your can goods for a good cause and get some raffle tickets at the next pack meeting.
At the next pack meeting we will be having a raffle drawing for some prizes. Here is how it will work. For every can good you bring you will get a raffle ticket up to 3 tickets. Pretty easy isn't it. Bring those can good and we will see you at the next Pack meeting.
Make your rank fun
The Houston Zoo is offering several programs throughout the year to help your scout(s) make there rank. The Zoo is a remarkable resource for helping Scouts of all ages earn badges and other achievements. Check below for upcoming programs and events as well as registration information.
Cost for 2 hour Badge Program
$15 per scout, $9.00 per chaperone Cost for 3 hour Badge Program ***
$18 per scout, $9 per chaperone, Free for Adult Zoo Member
Cost for 4 Hour Merit Badge Program *
$20 per scout, $9 per chaperone, Free for Adult Zoo Member
Cost for 6 Hour Merit Badge Program **
$30 per scout, $9 per chaperone, Free for Adult Zoo Member
NOTE: For the 6 hour merit badge programs a 30 minute meal break will be given. Scouts should bring a sack lunch.

UPDATED: Fall Camp out
Find your campsite, download this. The fall campout is sold out. We have a couple families that have not paid and a waiting list has been started. We currently have a little over 50 families going to the campout. During the upcoming days I will be grouping the dens together for camp assignments. I know that I was not going to do it this year but, because of our numbers I will have to group the families to make 8 people per site. A complete schedule will is online on the packs calendar page. The day of the camp out Lalen will be going to the park early and getting the sites. As soon as I have site numbers you will be able to come back to the website to get your campsite numbers. We will have them at the headquarters site as well. Don't forget to do your Rain Gutter Regatta boats in a pirate theme for the contest and there is a pumpkin decorating contest and dens have to supply there own pumpkins for the contest... one pumpkin per den is allowed in the contest. Popcorn Time
It is popcorn time so start your engines. Kennon has started to visit some of your den but, if he has not gotten to yours yet you can start now. Here is a link to get the brochure. Popcorn sell start October 1 and finish November 8th. Popcorn will be picked up on November 21st.
Campout skits needed
Campout is almost here. If your den is going to participate in a den skit, run on or song please email Robert Birkline so the scout can be added to the Campfire program. You can email me at campout@mypack1550.org with your details. Deadline is Oct 6th. Current dens skits....
Committee/Den Leader Meeting Date Changed
Our October Committee/Den Leader meeting date has change from Monday, October 5th to Sunday, October 4th to accomidate our Webelos II Den Leaders. Please change your calendars. We will meet at 6:30pm as usual at Spring Creek Forest Club House. |
